Artsy Addicts Technique Blog Hop

Hi Ladies!!!!  Welcome to the first Artsy Addicts Blog Hop!  There are 24 fabulous artists participating in this hop sharing their favorite techniques.  If you find yourself at this blog first and want to start at the beginning please go to http://www.angeeleebutler.com.

I'm going to share with you how I make my dragonfly embellishments.  It is super easy.

This is what you need:  cottonballs, wire ribbon, fabric craft ribbon, scissors, glue, clips, and a ruler.
First, stretch one cottonball out a little and place in the wire ribbon as the picture below shows.
Then, fold the wire ribbon over...

And then fold the sides in...

And then start twisting the wire ribbon to form the body of the dragonfly.  When you get to the length you want,  go ahead and cut, glue and clamp the end until the glue dries.

Now cut two pieces of your fabric craft ribbon.  For this dragonfly I cut each of my two ribbon pieces 8 inches in length.  Then tie each piece of ribbon around the cottonball body of the dragonfly to make your wings.
Trim the dragonfly wings...

After the glue dries, you are ready to further embellish your dragonfly or just use the dragonfly as is on your artsy projects.  Experiment with different ribbon from your stash.  Here are a few dragonflies I made:

And here is my project using dragonflies...
Supplies used as shown.  Also, canvas board and my dragonflies!
You're next stop on the blog hop is Karla at http://www.karlasloveblog.blogspot.com

Enjoy the rest of the hop!  Your comments are more than welcome and I will pick a winner from the comments next week and post the winner here on my blog so please check back.  I'll put together a small product prize package for the winner.  Thanks for visiting my blog, Chrys :)
